Eucalyptus gunnii — Cider Gum

Much the most common eucalyptus in Britain, and one of the first to be introduced by the Victorians from Australia.

The largely adult alternate evergreen leaves are small for a eucalyptus, and although they may point downwards, they rarely hang as such. The silver-bloomed flowers are in threes and give rise to cup-shaped fruit.
