| Juglans nigra — Black Walnut An early and rather infrequent American introduction, increasingly planted in parks and on streets.
 The alternate pinnate leaves usually lack a terminal leaflet. The walnuts have a fatter look than those of Common Walnut. The buds are grey and woolly.
