Pinus radiata — Monterey Pine

A fairly frequent early 19th century introduction.

The slender needles resemble those of Austrian Pine, but are in threes. The male flowers are brown. The cones are quite large and are characteristically retained for several years and hence may be seen attached to quite thick branches.
