Sorbus aria — Common Whitebeam
A frequent native tree, with cultivars common as street trees.
The alternate toothed leaves remain white-woolly below. The green and brown buds are quite large. Small heads of white flowers give rise to red berries.
‘Majestica’ has long, glossy leaves.
‘Lutescens’ has broad, rather short leaves which remain greyish above.
