Juniperus chinensis — Chinese Juniper

A relatively unusual tree, introduced from the Far East at the beginning of the 19th century.

The foliage is a mix of predominantly adult foliage with occasional tufts of juvenile foliage. The leaves have an unpleasant catty smell when crushed. The berries eventually ripen dark brown, the scale edges remaining visible.
