Ulmus minor — Field Elm

The other (probably) native elm, formerly very common, and geographically separated into a wide range of varieties with different leaf-shapes, etc., most of which are highly susceptible to Dutch Elm Disease.

The alternate leaves tend to be rough and buckled, quite short and rounded, and on sizeable stalks. The fruit tends to have the seed displaced towards the end notch.
