Xanthocyparis nootkaensis — Nootka Cypress
A fairly uncommon mid-19th century American introduction, one of the parties responsible for Leylandii.
The drooping foliage consists of rather thick threads with obviously slightly-spreading side-leaves. The foliage has a sour smell if crushed. The small cones have prominent curved spines.
