Crataegus monogyna — Common Hawthorn
A very common native tree, dominant in many hedgerows.
The alternate leaves are much more deeply-lobed than those of Midland Hawthorn, although intermediate hybrids are common. Buds are small and rounded. White flowers are produced in late spring, with masses of dark red berries in autumn.
