Crataegus x grignonensis  (Grignon's Thorn)GTA small tree in Alexandra Gardens
Crataegus laevigata  (Midland Hawthorn)HA HPPrimarily found as cultivars such as the double white-flowered ‘Plena Alba’ among the Bird Cherries on Jesus Green and the double red-flowered ‘Punicea Flore Plena’ near the N corner of Alexandra Gardens
Crataegus x lavallei  (Hybrid Cockspur Thorn) One on the outside of the eastern bend in Storey's Way [map]
Crataegus monogyna  (Common Hawthorn)HwVery common, e.g. on Sheep's Green; the vertcially-branching ‘Fastigiata’ is found as a street tree along Gilbert Road [map]
Crataegus persimilis  (Broad-leaved Cockspur Thorn)CTA fairly common street tree: there are also several at the N end of Mill Road Cemetery
Cryptomeria japonica  (Japanese Red Cedar) A type tree about 200m SE of Barton Church on Barton High Street [map]; a fair-sized example of the more common ‘Elegans’ in Little St Mary's Churchyard bordering Little St Mary's Lane [map]
x Cupressocyparis leylandii  (Leylandii)LyExcessively common as hedging or small trees: larger trees include three (probably ‘Haggerston Grey’ at the NW corner of Jesus Green and a probable ‘Leighton Green’ on the W corner of the junction of Milton Road and Gilbert Road [map]
Cupressus arizonica  (Smooth Arizona Cypress) A popular garden tree: there are two street trees of varying ages in Corona Road off Mitcham's Corner [map]
Cupressus macrocarpa  (Monterey Cypress) A type tree overhangs Burrell's walk opposite and slightly W of the gateway to the University Library [map]; there is another further E and beyond that a possible ‘Lutea’. Golden forms are fairly common, but generally hard to specifically identify, e.g. the large tree on the N side of Montague Rd just E of the junction with De Freville Avenue [map]
Cupressus sempervirens  (Italian Cypress) I am not aware of any type trees in Cambridge; some small highly distinctive ‘Green Pencil’ trees are to be seen in gardens
